Byron Shire Archery Club (BSAC) was founded in 2014 to give our local archery community the opportunity to participate in the sport of competitive target archery.
Whether you are interested in shooting on a social basis or are training and preparing for the Olympic podium, BSAC provides a safe and competitive environment to participate.
Located in the newly constructed Byron Regional Sporting and Cultural Complex, the BSAC range is located in the North-Eastern corner of the complex on a state-of-the-art "Herb Elliott" field, specifically marked and setup for competitive archery. The range features modern sprinkler systems, world class lighting, drinking water stations and personal amenities.
We meet on a Saturday morning from 9:00 am. We also have a shoot on a Wednesday evening from 5:00pm. As a member you can have access to the ground Wednesday, plus Saturday and Sunday mornings.
From 9am Saturday the club members can shoot a designated and approved Archery Australia target round, consisting 72, 90, 120 or 144 arrows over varying distances. We also have the highly effective OzBow self paced improvement program running for all members. The OzBow program will allow you to track your own progress from the very beginning. If you are not interested in joining in on the club scoring round or don't feel comfortable yet, feel free to wheel any spare target to any distance and shoot as much or as little as you like.
We have 4 accredited archery coaches/instructors at the club who are all willing to lend a hand and help you out should you request it. A list of club instructors can be found HERE.
For people new to archery, BSAC offers its members a Comprehensive Beginners Course, On-going instruction and local and interclub competition. Bookings are essential and can be made HERE Courses are run approximately 6 times per year.
