Byron Shire Archery Club

New to Archery

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the centre of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

If you have never picked up a bow before and would like to give archery a go, then you've come to the right place.

At BSAC you can learn archery basics from our fully qualified trainers. We run Beginner Courses throughout the year and will advertise them on this website. Please contact us if you would like to be notified when we are running these courses.

If you have already tried archery or are an archer returning to the sport, you can have an assessment by one of our instructors and apply to become a full financial member on the spot. Contact us

BEGINNER COURSE

In the Beginner Courses you will learn all about the correct techniques and methods to shoot archery accurately and safely, while having a fun and exciting experience.

We recommend all new archers complete the Beginner Courses with BSAC (or another registered archery club) before applying for full membership.

NEXT BEGINNER COURSE: TBA

Beginner Courses are run on a Saturday from 8:50am - 11am at the BSAC club grounds. It is tailored towards beginners who believe they may benefit from more than a 'one-off' archery experience. Numbers are limited to 6 participants.

The cost of the Beginner Course is $50 per participant. This covers all equipment hire, training tips from our qualified instructors and temporary member affiliation fees for 6 weeks.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to adverse weather this year, we have a list of people wanting to start that we are getting through slower than normal. If you are interested in joining us for a Beginners Course then please fill in the form below.

Please be patient as all management and instructors at the club are volunteers and do this in their free time.

All field visits during the 6 week temporary membership will cost $5 per visit or $7.50 per evening shoot in winter. (Please note: After 6 weeks, to continue as a full member of Archery Australia you will need to pay an annual association fee).

To shoot in Australia you must be a member of a recognised archery association
